The Solarmer Energy Engineering Program

Would you like to learn more about the engineering field? Do you want a taste of what it's like to be an engineer? Solarmer Energy is offering a 3 week summer program for students entering college or in their first two years of college. This program will allow students to immerse themselves in the engineering field by providing time in the lab to develop solar cells that will be applicable in supplying energy for an application. Students will be allowed to experiment with their work and learn more about the future of solar energy.


Each applicant must include the following:

  2. Application Form

  3. $25 Application Fee

Cost of Attendance

The cost of the program is $700 including the application fee. This will cover the cost of the materials used in the lab, the equipment usage, and the teachers who have organized this program.

Program Outline

Week 1: Learn about the theory of Photovoltaics and an introduction to the lab and pilot line
Week 2: Hands-on development of lab solar cells
Week 3: Introduce modules and allow students to perform the coating process and apply it to an application

Dates and Deadlines

The program will run from July 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015 from 9AM to 12PM Monday through Thursday.

The application deadline is June 29, 2015.
